Becoming a Time Traveler

Almost twenty years ago I set off on a great adventure: traveling through time to discover my American roots. Since then I have spent a lot of time with my dead relatives. I have traveled across America to its eastern shores and back in time to the year 1624, and in doing so have relearned America’s history in a new and very personal way. It has been an amazing journey that has forever changed the way I feel about myself, about America, and about my own place in the American Experience. It has been an activist’s journey. What is the point of learning history if you do not act upon what you learn.
